SSTC and AgileAsia Strengthen Industry Readiness Through Generative AI Workshop and Strategic Collaboration

KOTA KINABALU, 11 June 2026 – Sabah Skills & Technology Centre (SSTC) in collaboration with AgileAsia successfully hosted the “Generative AI at Work” Workshop, bringing together professionals, industry representatives, and organizational leaders to explore the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace.

The key highlight of the event was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange Ceremony between SSTC and AgileAsia, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership focused on talent development, industry upskilling, and digital transformation.

The MoU reflects a shared commitment to strengthening Sabah’s workforce with future-ready skills while creating greater opportunities for organizations to adopt emerging technologies effectively. Through this collaboration, SSTC continues to support the development of a more skilled, adaptable, and digitally prepared workforce.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ranjeev K. Babu, Principal Strategist and Trainer in AI, Generative AI, and Agile Frameworks. Participants were introduced to key concepts including the AI landscape in 2026, effective prompt design, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and practical business applications of generative AI. Designed as a hands-on learning experience, the session immersed participants in practical exercises and real-world scenarios, equipping them with actionable strategies that can be immediately applied within their respective organizations.

Looking ahead, SSTC and AgileAsia are committed to advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) learning in Sabah through professional training programs, industry-focused workshops, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and workforce upskilling efforts. This joint effort aims to strengthen AI capabilities among individuals and businesses, while supporting Sabah’s digital transformation agenda and enhancing the region’s competitiveness in the digital economy.

Moving forward, these initiatives are expected to open more pathways for professionals, businesses, and industry stakeholders to gain practical exposure to emerging AI technologies and real-world applications, ensuring that Sabah remains ready for the future of work in an increasingly AI-driven landscape.
