Sabah Skills & Technology Centre (SSTC) continuing its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity by hosting another blood donation campaign on 31st January 2018 at the centre from 9 am to 3 pm. This blood donation drive was held because of the shortage of blood supplies and to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation.

Themed 1 Pint Saves 3 Lives, the 6-hour campaign received full support not only from the trainees but from the management team as well. Compared to last campaign, there was a significant increase in the total number of donors. Since its first campaign in 2006, SSTC has collected a total number of 1580 and saved more than 4, 000 lives.

Some of the successful blood donors

Hospitals in Malaysia now are in desperate need of blood supplies. Public are urged to donate blood to help the people in need. Medical and surgical treatments such as cardiac surgery, organ transfusion, thalassemia, and anaemia are all depend on blood transfusion. Those who want to donate blood may head to the nearest Blood Bank Unit or participate in any Blood Donation Campaign hosted for the public. Remember that we do not have to be a doctor to save lives, just donate blood and save lives.
